WATCH THIS: A whole lot of slating going on: British Vogue Absolutely Fashion.

So people have been going mad on twitter about the new UK Vogue documentary, Absolutely Fashion that aired this week.

I saw it on Friday and I have to say, I agree.

It was generally slated. The buzz on Twitter was that the narrator was totally condescending, the lack of diversity on the staff at Vogue, the lack of interesting insight and as one person out it 'dying magazine vibes.' Ouch.

I have to admit that I wasn't one bit surprised to see an 'edgy' cover with Kate Moss removed in favor of the duller cover.

I used to buy UK Vogue religiously when I was younger. In fact, part of the reason I write as much as I do is because I was obsessed with magazines. I would buy Vogue, ELLE, Glamour monthly then Look (shudder), Grazia and sometimes Heat weekly. I spent a fortune. Not to mention, the amount of actual magazines left over. I also buy the ELLE and Vogue runway guides and LOVE magazine too. I stopped all of this when I realised I had more Vogues then space.

But UK Vogue hasn't been interesting for years. I find the same covers over and over, the same girls over and over and the same stories repeated.  I have no interest in a publication that fawns over Kate Middletons and Kim Kardashian. I want someone to give me more substance.

So back to the documentary.

It's part of a series which airs on BBC and is available now on youtube and iplayer. It started last week on the 8th.

Some of the tweets about the show have been both funny and interesting.

In reference to the 'nice moments' shown by Alexander Shulman to writers, editors on staff, Kelly Gilbert's tweet caught my eye. Kelly is the former beauty and health writer for UK Vogue.

A few valid points were made about the documentary showing the lack of diversity on the staff and also, that ultimately the decisions were all made by rich white men. Which I have to admit, both things annoyed me. It is obvious that toeing the line comes from the need to sell magazines (duh) but also, the staff who are seemingly the same white woman.

The next episode is meant to feature Anna Wintour which means it could almost save itself from destruction. But there are a lot of issues with the issue which mean that British Vogue could do with a massive over haul before I start buying into what they (and this docu) are selling.
