Semi- Sweet Chocolate Palette Makeup Tutorial

Hey guys,

I hope you're doing super great. I'm here today to show you the look that I created with the new makeup products that I recently got (haul here). This was my first time using these products so I'll be sharing my first impressions on them. I hope you enjoy.

Face

I started off with a clean and moisturized face.

I then dotted the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hr foundation in 100 Ivory.  At first, I thought that this foundation would be too dark for a pale child like myself but once it was blended out it seemed to match my skin tone really well. I then noticed that it as quite thick in consistency. To me, this was a good sign because full coverage foundations tend to be thicker and this one was supposed to be like that. Lastly, I noticed that the foundation has a pleasant scent to it, similar to the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation which was an added bonus.

I decided the blend out the foundation with another new product. I used the beauty sponge from the Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt and Blend Collection. I thought that the sponge was quite soft and that it felt nice to apply my foundation with it. It was also extremely quick. However, I don't know whether it was the fault of the sponge or the foundation but the coverege on my skin seemed quite light (medium light). I do feel like it was more likely to have been the sponge as when I tested the foundation on my hands it covered all the swatches that I had on it. In addition, when I washed the sponge after the use a lot of product seemed to come out of it. As such, I think that the sponge most likely absorbs some of the foundation into itself and thereby it gives it a lighter coverage. This might not be a bad thing at all as it can give foundations a different finish than the one given by a brush, so it's like having two products in one.

I then applied the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair. First of all, I was super impressed with how light it was in colour. Normally, light concealers tend to match my skin tone but this one seemed to brighten my under eye area so it might actually be paler than my skintone. I have used this product in the past and I know that it has really good coverage. I used the sponge to blend it and again I felt like the sponge was taking that coverage away. I might stick to using my fingers next time.

I then used my usual powder (Rimmel Stay Matte in Transparent) to set my base in place with the Real Techniques Powder Brush.

Controur

For my contour I used more new products. The brushes from the Ultra Sculpt and Blend Collection and the Ultra Professional Contour Palette  both from Makeup Revolution.
I started off by applying the cool-toned brown from the palette with the Cheek and Highlight brush from the set. The brush was really precise when applying the product however it was far too dense to blend the colour out. Therefore, I used it to apply the shade to the hollows of my cheeks, the sides of my nose and my jaw line and then I blended it out with the Powder and Sculpt brush which was much fluffier.
I felt that the product applied nicely, ti wasn't patchy and that the colour was indeed perfect for contouring as it is quite cool toned.

I then took the same Powder and Sculpt brush and applied the warmer brown the my temples and to the tops of my cheek bones to warm up my complexion.

I then took the darker highllighter from the palette and used the Eyeshadow Blender brush from the set to apply it to the top of my cheekbones. However, it didn;t seem to do much at all. With me being pale, I would have expected it to show up quite strongly. I was not impressed with it.
As I wanted a stronger (read: Any sort of ) glow to my face, I used the white highlighter below it over the top of it and on the bridge of my nose and Cupid's bow. This one was amazing. I'm normally not a fan of cool toned highlighters but this one reflects light so beautifully that I grew to love it.

For my blush I used the Zoeva 126 Luxe Cheek brush and the blush Treat ( a peach colour) from Makeup Revolution.

I then took the yellow shade from the Contour palette with a powder brush from Eco Tools and applied this under my eyes. This shade is supposed to brighten however on my pale skin it didn't seem to do too much.

Brows

For my eyebrows, I used another new product: the Ultra Brow Kit from Makeup Revolution. I used my Zoeva 322 Brow Line brush to apply the product.
I started off by applying the the top right shade ( cool toned dark(ish) brown) along the bottom line of my brows and then filling in the top and creating an arch. I then added the shade to its left which was lighter and used it to fill in the front of my brows.
I felt that the powders were super creamy, almost as if they were cream. This might be an issue because I feel that the brush picks up a lot and therefore they will be used up quite quickly. Other than that, the shadows were lovely to to work with and they seemed to be quite cool toned.

Eyes

For my eyes I used the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette by Too Faced. I was planning on buying the dupe of this palette from Makeup Revolution ( Salted Caramel Palette). However, when I was browsing the shop I decided to swatch this and it was a dream. The shades were super pigmented and buttery and I was so taken aback by this that I opted to buy it on the spot. Plus it smells like heaven, just saying.

To start off, I took the shade Coconut Creme (pale cream shade) and applied it with a fluffy brush all over my brow bone to allow later shades to blend better.

I then applied the shade Mousse (light brown) with the MAC 217 Brush as my transition shade.

Over this, I blended in the shade Peanut Butter ( warm, orange-brown) with the Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease brush into my crease.

I also took the same shade and blended it along my lower lash line with the 226 Smudger brush from Zoeva.

I then took my new Makeup Revolution Ultra Pointed Crease eyeshadow brush and blended the shade Truffled (dark brown) into my outer V. I blended this both inwards and outwards.  The brush is super soft and it blends really well.

I then took a concealer brush from Coastal Scents and applied the shade Blueberry Swirl (blue, shimmery shade) to my lid. This shade had quite a lot of fall out ( the others didn't have any) but it stilled applied nicely.

To highlight my inner corner and brow bone I used the shade Butter Pecan (shimmery creme colour).

I then used the Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner to create my wing.
Then I used the Maybelline Brow Drama in in Dark Brown to brush out and set my brows.

For my mascara I used the Better Than Sex Mascara from Too Faced which I have been loving.

Lips

For my lips I used the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Kooky. I opted for a bold dark lip but if you want this look to be more wearable you could use a nude. shade.
